A Story On Fire…..
Unit Theme: Analyzing social justice through the lens of dystopic literature. This will involve social justice issues of hunger, violence, and forced war; how has post-nation literature framed potential outcomes for our civilization?

Unit Goals: Students will be able to identify social justice tropes through dystopic literature. There will be discussion on why the Capital utilizes reality-television to broadcast the Hunger Games across the country and why this occurs; differences of how external forces influence citizens in District 12 and cause issues of hunger and involuntary labor. We will draw connections between the fictional dystopia of The Hunger Games to poverty, violence, and war within the United States.
